Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 March 2026
1. Who we are
Volt ("we", "us", "our") is a workout generation and tracking platform. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you use the Volt application and website.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you register we collect your email address, display name and password. If you sign in via a third-party provider (Google, Apple or Facebook) we receive your name and email address from that provider. We do not receive or store your third-party password.
Profile information
You may optionally provide physical details (age, height, weight, gender), training equipment and fitness benchmarks. This information is used solely to personalise your workout experience.
Workout data
We store workouts you generate, save and log, including structure, ratings, notes, location (if provided) and photos you upload.
Usage data
We collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) to operate and improve the service.
3. How we use your information
- To provide and personalise the Volt service, including AI-generated workouts tailored to your profile
- To display your activity in the social feed (respecting your visibility settings)
- To send service-related communications (e.g. password resets)
- To maintain security and prevent abuse
- To improve the service through aggregated, anonymised analytics
4. AI-generated content
Volt uses third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude) to generate workouts. Your profile data (age, height, weight, fitness benchmarks) is sent to the AI provider in the context of each generation request. This data is not stored by the AI provider beyond the duration of the request. No personally identifiable information (name, email) is included in AI requests.
5. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- AI providers (Anthropic) — anonymised profile data for workout generation, as described above
- OAuth providers (Google, Apple, Facebook) — only the standard authentication flow; we do not share your Volt data back to these providers
- Hosting infrastructure — our hosting provider processes data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards
- Law enforcement — if required by law
6. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your workout data
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing
To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address below.
8. Cookies
Volt uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and secure session management. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
Volt is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Volt after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact
